What Can I Expect?

Going to the chiropractic physician is a new experience for many of us. Maybe we've heard through a friend or have done some research online. It's possible that you are just fed up with living in pain and it's time to do something about it. In either case, your first visit to the chiropractic physician will really be about getting to know them and discussing your history, current condition and goals.

Your first visit to West Coast Spine Center and Professional Physical Therapy will include filling out paper work (if you have not printed the new patient forms online and filled them out at home), consultation with the Doctor to discuss your health concerns and a thorough examination to diagnose your condition. Your specific condition may require x-rays to rule out more serious conditions and to assist us in determining the most effective treatment plan for you.

Results of the examination will be discussed with you in detail. Specific treatments will be recommended based on the evaluation of your examination. If you have already received X-rays of a specific injury, please bring them with you.

Same Day Treatment: Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.

Home Instructions: Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment: You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time.
